Dr. Noah Serem

Responsibilities
Dr. Noah Serem is responsible for teaching, examining and curriculum development of Electrical Engineering courses within the School of Engineering, ensuring effective delivery of course content and assessment of students’ academic performance. He also serves as the Examination and Timetabling Coordinator in the Department of Mechanical and Production Engineering, where he coordinates examination activities and departmental teaching timetables. In addition, he mentors and supervises final-year engineering students in their academic projects and professional development. As the Departmental ODeL Coordinator, he coordinates and supports online and distance learning activities, including the development and delivery of digital learning content. He also supervises postgraduate students in their research work, providing academic guidance and supporting them in the development and completion of their research projects.

  • Electrical machines: generators, motors, electric drives and special electrical machines.
  • Renewable energy technologies: Solar power, Wind power, hydro-power and their grid connection.
  • Control Systems: Design of control systems including linear systems, non-linear systems, multi-variable control systems, state-space control and digital control systems.

Biography
Dr. Noah Kimutai Serem is a Senior Lecturer in Electrical Engineering at the University of Eldoret, Kenya, specializing in electrical power systems, renewable energy integration, smart grids, power quality, and control systems. He holds a PhD in Electrical Power Systems from the University of Rwanda, an MSc in Power Engineering and Electrical Machines from Alexandria University, Egypt, and a BEng in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Moi University.Dr. Serem has extensive teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and has served in various academic leadership roles, ...
