Arnold Wanjala Namusonge

Dr. Arnold Wanjala Namusonge is a Visiting Lecturer and the E-Learning Coordinator at the University of Eldoret, where he teaches Business Strategy, Marketing Management, Research Methods, Entrepreneurship, Logistics Management, and Contemporary Issues in Business.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Finance major) with First Class Honours from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Strategic Management, and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Business Administration, specializing in Strategic Management, both from JKUAT. He also holds a Certificate in Business Sustainability Management—a senior management qualification—from the University of Cambridge, UK (Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, CISL).

Beyond academia, Dr. Namusonge is an award-winning, highly networked, and versatile commercial leader with over 17 years of multi-market and multi-sector experience spanning telecommunications, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), financial services (fintech lending), transportation, agrochemical solutions, and renewable energy sectors.

He was part of the pioneering team that laid the foundation for Kenya’s mobile money revolution—developing agent networks, driving customer acquisition, and achieving full interoperability—contributing to one of Kenya’s most celebrated digital success stories.

Dr. Namusonge has extensive P&L experience and a proven record of innovating strategies that operationalize organizational goals and build sustainable business structures. His expertise spans end-to-end commercial operations including sales, customer experience, distribution, marketing (both conventional and digital), revenue assurance, demand planning, and forecasting.

A recognized expert in market entry, route-to-market development, business growth, and partner management across B2B and B2C environments, Dr. Namusonge has built and led high-performing teams and has hands-on experience with CRM and sales force automation systems for pipeline management and performance optimization.

He is also a subject-matter expert with GLG, a global consultancy firm, where he advises on business, marketing, and sales strategy. Notably, he became the youngest Regional Sales Manager in Kenya’s telecommunications sector at age 26 and went on to hold senior management positions in leading blue-chip companies, including Airtel Kenya, Airtel Rwanda, the Essar Group and Diageo PLC, trading as East African Breweries Limited in Kenya. By the age of 30, he was already serving as Head of Department at Airtel.
